Wine 101

If you like wine and are curious to learn more, here's a great place to start. I'll begin by introducing concepts like aroma, acidity, and tannins. We'll review some winemaking techniques, and where flavors like butter or vanilla come from. We'll learn how to read a wine label, and what to look for at a wine shop or bar. I'll answer any questions you have along the way, and my goal is for you to be able to more confidently describe what you like (and don't like!) in a wine and help inspire you to keep exploring the wide world of wines.

Ancient World Wines

France, Spain, and Italy may be the world's most well-known wine producing countries, but wine actually finds its historical roots in the Caucuses, the Levant, and the eastern Mediterranean - the present-day countries of Georgia, Armenia, Lebanon, and Greece. We'll drink wines from each of these countries and discuss the ancient history of wine to better understand how it became the drink we know and love today.
