Exploring the Tropics: Rum Classics

in-person90min

Description

Rum - the real cure for seasonal depression. Rum cocktails often get a bad rap for being "too sweet". Many of the original tiki recipes created cocktails that are more boozy & bright than sweet & juicy. During this experience you'll get to taste these cocktails as they were originally intended - all while learning about the history of Rum through mid-century America's enduring fascination with Polynesia and Tiki bars. Choose two cocktails for your experience: - Trader Vic's Mai Tai (Original 1944 recipe) - Pina Colada (1964 Recipe from Senor Pico's Bar in San Francisco) - Jungle Bird (1977 Recipe from the Kuala Lampur Hilton Hotel Bar) - Daiquiri (Early 1900's Recipe from the Cuban city of Daiquiri) This experience can also be adapted as a cocktail party with your expert handling the mixology.
